A light summer ale made with a blend of wheat and lager malts. It is flavoured with fresh meadowsweet to capture the essence of summer. The result is a wonderful thirst quenching ale that makes a refreshing alternative to lager.
Duchess Anne was the first Duchess of Hamilton. She was a remarkable lady who survived, and even prospered during the religious wars of the seventeenth century. She was the last Hamilton to use Strathaven Castle and was a generous benefactor to the town. Despite having twelve children, ten of whom survived to adulthood, she managed to help restore the fortunes of the Hamilton estates which had been devastated during the Cromwellian occupation.
